Analysis Group application deadlines 2027: the undergraduate and MBA calendars are three months apart

By case-prep.com Updated August 11, 2026 7 min read Reviewed each cycle
The short answer

Analysis Group runs a split calendar. Summer Analyst recruiting for undergraduates runs September to December, while Summer Associate recruiting for MBA candidates starts in December and runs through March.1 The Summer Analyst deadline for the 2027 cycle is projected around early October 2026.1 Every date here is projected rather than firm-published, so verify on the careers site before planning around it.

Analysis Group's Summer Analyst window for this cycle has closed. The firm runs a split calendar, with Summer Analyst recruiting September to December and Summer Associate recruiting for MBA candidates December through March, so the MBA window may still be open.1 Check the firm's careers site for live postings.

None of these dates are published by the firm

Analysis Group does not publish a national deadline calendar, so every date on this page is projected from prior cycles by third-party trackers.1 That is a real limitation and we would rather say so than present projections as facts. Use this as a planning frame and treat the firm's live postings as the only authority.

Two tracks, two completely different calendars

This is the fact that matters most and the one almost no coverage states plainly. Analysis Group runs a split recruiting calendar: Summer Analyst recruiting runs September to December, while Summer Associate recruiting starts in December and runs through March.1

For the 2027 to 2028 cycle the Summer Analyst deadline is projected around early October 2026.1

If you are an undergraduate and you check Analysis Group in January, you have missed your window by a month. If you are an MBA and you check in October, you are three months early.
TrackWho it is forRecruiting windowDeadline
Summer AnalystUndergraduatesSeptember to DecemberExpected early October 2026
Summer AssociateMBA and advanced degreeDecember to MarchExpected within that window

Every date on this page is projected from prior cycles rather than published by the firm, which is a genuine limitation. Analysis Group directs candidates to its own careers site for live postings, and that is the only authority. Treat the table as a planning frame and verify before you plan around it.

Why the competition is stiffer than the profile suggests

Analysis Group ranked third in the 2026 Vault Consulting 50, and its summer program landed in Vault's Top 10 Best Consulting Internships for compensation and data analytics.1 As the largest pure-play economic consulting firm in the world, with more than 1,500 professionals across 15 offices, the internship is one of the most competitive in economics consulting.1

Extern also notes that Analysis Group is consistently rated one of the best employers for economics graduates and has strong graduate school placement.2 That last point is the underrated one: if you are considering a PhD, law school or a masters after two or three years of work, economic consulting is a stronger springboard than most strategy roles.

Third in the Vault 50 puts Analysis Group above most of the Big 4 consulting arms and level with firms candidates treat as far more prestigious. The mismatch between that ranking and the volume of online coverage is the opportunity here.

Analysis Group does not run formal case interviews

This comes from the firm itself. Analysis Group's careers FAQ states directly that it does not conduct formal case interviews, and that throughout your interviews you should expect questions about your research, prior work and internship experience, teamwork and leadership, and career interests.6

The structure is two rounds. The first is a 30 minute virtual interview with one or two consultants, largely behavioral, covering your background, why economic consulting, and a detailed discussion of a quantitative project from your resume.7 The final round is an in person Superday, with the firm stating that Analyst candidates meet roughly three to five consultants in both formal and conversational settings.6

Candidate reports are consistent: they will grill you on your own project. Knowing it cold matters more than any framework.

Reported question types include explaining a technical concept to a non-technical audience, walking through a project you led, and defending the methodology of your own research.8 Some interviewers test basic microeconomics such as supply and demand or elasticity.9

One honest caveat. While the firm says it runs no formal cases, some candidate reports describe occasional case-like discussions in later rounds, presented as conversation rather than a structured case.9 Prepare your projects first, and do not be thrown if an economic scenario comes up as discussion.

No formal case interviews here

Analysis Group says it does not case. Prepare your research instead

Analysis Group's own careers FAQ states the firm does not conduct formal case interviews. Interviews cover your research, prior work and internship experience, teamwork and career interests. The single highest-value preparation is being able to walk through two or three of your own analytical projects at a technical level: the data, the method, the limitations and what you found.

How Analysis Group compares to Cornerstone Research

These two firms are the obvious comparison and candidates routinely apply to both. The useful distinctions are timing and format.

  • Timing. Cornerstone publishes a firm September date. Analysis Group's undergraduate window runs September to December with a projected early October deadline, and its MBA window does not open until December.
  • Format. Cornerstone runs genuine economic consulting case interviews. Analysis Group states it does not conduct formal case interviews, focusing instead on your own research and experience.
  • Transparency. Cornerstone's dates appear on university careers boards and are easy to verify. Analysis Group's are not, which is why this page carries more projections than most on this site.

If you are targeting economic consulting seriously, apply to both, and sequence Cornerstone first because its deadline is earlier and firmer.

What to do this week

  1. Work out which track you are on. Undergraduate means September to December. MBA means December to March.
  2. Check the firm's careers site directly. The dates here are projected and the postings are the only authority.
  3. Pick two or three analytical projects and know them cold. Data, method, limitations, findings. This is the core of the interview.
  4. Apply to Cornerstone Research in parallel and sequence it first, since its September deadline is earlier and published.
  5. If graduate school is on your horizon, weigh the placement record, which is one of this firm's genuine strengths.
