Big 4 and Accenture internship deadlines 2027: the windows opening now
Unlike MBB, the Big 4 and Accenture mostly do not publish national deadlines. The dates below are the windows reported for this cycle and the patterns from prior years. Always verify against the firm's own careers portal before you plan around a date.
The short version
- MBB is nearly done. The next wave starts now. Accenture, Deloitte Consulting and EY-Parthenon open applications August to September 2026 for summer 2027.1
- Boutique strategy, economic consulting and public sector firms follow September to November 2026.1
- There is usually no deadline to race to. Most of these firms review on a rolling basis and close roles as they fill, which makes your submission date the filter rather than any published cutoff.43
- Deloitte runs a two-speed calendar. Audit and tax recruit roughly 22 months ahead, while consulting, advisory and government tracks run closer to a year out. Reading the wrong row is the most common mistake here.2
- EY-Parthenon caps you at two applications in any six-month period, so choosing your track matters more than at most firms.5
- Acceptance rates are meaningfully higher than MBB's, which is the honest reason this wave deserves your attention rather than being treated as a fallback.6
If you spent June and July on MBB applications, the temptation now is to exhale. That is the wrong instinct. The second wave of consulting recruiting is opening this month, it is larger than the first, and because most of it runs on rolling review there is no deadline to procrastinate against. The people who do well in this wave are simply the ones who show up in the opening weeks.
Here is what is opening, when, and what is different about how these firms actually process applications.
The three waves of the 2027 cycle
Consulting recruiting is not one season. It is three, and they are separated by months. 6
The structural point worth absorbing: 6 MBB deadlines land in June and July, when most students are on summer break and not thinking about applications, while the Big 4 and boutique waves land once term has restarted. That mismatch is why so many students discover consulting recruiting in September and find the most prestigious doors already shut. If you are reading this in wave two, you have not missed the cycle. You have arrived at the largest part of it.
Track every window in one place
Rolling review across a dozen firms with no published deadlines is a tracking problem before it is a preparation problem. Our job tracking spreadsheet gives you the columns that actually matter: firm, track, date applied, round, contact, next step, outcome.

The wave two calendar
Read the status column carefully. Only a minority of these are dates a firm has actually published.
| Firm | Track | Window for summer 2027 | Review | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Accenture | Consulting, Strategy, Technology | August to September 2026 | Rolling, closes track by track | Expected |
| Deloitte | Consulting, Advisory, GPS | August to September 2026 | Rolling | Expected |
| EY-Parthenon | Strategy | August to September 2026, target-school deadlines often land in September | Rolling for most postings | Expected |
| EY | US early careers, other service lines | Portal directs candidates to check back in fall 2026 | Rolling, roles close when filled | Firm stated |
| PwC, KPMG | Advisory and consulting arms | August to September 2026 | Rolling | Expected |
| Boutique and econ | LEK, Oliver Wyman, Roland Berger, NERA, Cornerstone | September to November 2026 | Varies | Expected |
Rolling review changes the whole strategy
This is the part that trips up candidates coming off an MBB cycle. McKinsey gave you a national deadline of August 11 and reviewed afterward. Most of wave two does not work that way.
Accenture posts no single national deadline. It opens roles on a rolling basis and closes them track by track, and the consulting and strategy tracks close early.3 Many Big 4 firms select candidates to interview as applications arrive rather than waiting for a cutoff, which means late applicants compete for whatever seats are left.4 EY reviews on a rolling basis and closes roles as soon as they fill.7 At EY-Parthenon specifically, popular offices including New York, Chicago and San Francisco fill first.5
The practical translation: a good application submitted in the first two weeks of a window beats a great application submitted in week eight. If your resume is 90 percent finished, submit it. Polishing it to 100 percent while seats close is a bad trade.
The Deloitte two-speed calendar
Deloitte causes more confusion than any other firm here, and it is worth being precise about why. The firm runs two different recruiting clocks.2
- Audit and tax recruit roughly 22 months before the internship starts. Applications for summer 2028 audit and tax are expected to open August to September 2026, which is now.2
- Consulting, advisory and government and public services run closer to a year out, so you apply during 2027 to intern in summer 2028.2
So if you are an accounting major reading this in your sophomore fall, the window opening now is yours. If you are targeting Deloitte Consulting for summer 2028, the window opening now is not, and applying to the wrong track wastes one of your shots. For summer 2027 consulting specifically, that window is the one opening this month.
One more data point on how fast this moves: Deloitte opened summer 2027 audit and tax applications on August 18, 2025, and students reported rejections within three days.2 Rolling review at scale is genuinely quick.
EY-Parthenon: the two-application rule
EY-Parthenon has two mechanics that change how you should approach it. First, you are limited to two applications within any six-month period, so you cannot spray across service lines.5 Pick the track you actually want.
Second, after you apply you should expect an email invitation to an online skills assessment within one business day, so be ready to sit it immediately rather than discovering it in a neglected inbox a week later.5 The process from there runs an online assessment, a first-round interview, and a final-round Super Day.5
Worth knowing that the fall window is not the only entry point. One US EY-Parthenon posting for the prior cycle opened in January and closed in mid-February, so roles continue surfacing into the winter for candidates who keep checking.5
Why this wave deserves better than fallback status
Candidates routinely treat wave two as a consolation prize, and the numbers do not support that framing. McKinsey and BCG accept roughly one percent of applicants, while Big 4 advisory acceptance rates are significantly higher, which makes Big 4 transaction advisory and EY-Parthenon the strongest alternative paths if MBB is not realistic for you right now.6 EY-Parthenon in particular sits at the strategy end and is reported as one of the more selective tracks inside the Big 4 umbrella.7
The case interview is also largely the same instrument across both waves. Preparation you did for a McKinsey or Bain process transfers directly, which means the marginal cost of adding wave two applications is close to zero.

Open the case libraryWhat to do in the next two weeks
- Decide your tracks before you open a portal. Especially at EY, where you get two applications per six months. Guessing costs you a slot.
- Check each firm's own careers page today. Most of the dates above are expected rather than published. The portal is the only authority.
- Submit in the opening weeks. Rolling review means timing is a filter before your resume is.
- Have your assessment time cleared. If you apply to EY-Parthenon, the invitation may arrive within a day.
- Log everything. A dozen rolling applications with no deadlines is impossible to hold in your head.
Note for later readers: the wave two window described here has closed. The structure of the three waves and the rolling-review dynamics still hold for the following cycle, and we update the dates each year as firms publish them.
One closing caution about sourcing. Because these firms do not publish national deadlines, almost every date circulating online for wave two is an inference from last year's pattern rather than a stated fact. That includes the dates here. Treat them as a planning frame and let each firm's portal be the source of truth.
